Breathe deeply, feel the wind, forget everyday life. In the new PANDION ALBERTUSSEE quarter, the big city shows its greenest side. Beautiful in all seasons and sustainable in its overall concept: large community gardens, intensive green roofs, 100 percent use of rainwater and the near-natural shoreline design with the beautiful lake promenade create a pleasant microclimate.
The staged green spaces and squares between the residential buildings create a pleasant mixture of architecture and nature, of privacy and public space. They create inviting meeting places - with private gardens and large play areas, meadows, wildflowers and a diverse selection of plants. As colorful as life itself.
A whole kilometer: That's how long the new path around Lake Albertus is, as if made for strolling, jogging and walking. The highlight of the planned design is the wide lake promenade, which even leads through a small forest in the east. Biodiversity, sustainability and insect protection are emphasized here.
Planning for the future makes everyday life easier and more ecological. Short distances are a guarantee for resource-saving lifestyles - that's why there are three daycare centers in the neighborhood as well as a community DIY workshop where you can tinker or repair your bike. For longer journeys, there are e-bikes or electric cars - the charging facilities for these are already planned.
Since 2015, the area at Heerdter Albertussee has been transformed into an address for inner-city living on the waterfront. PANDION emerged as the competition winner among 13 applicants and is now developing Düsseldorf's new district of the future with architects Hadi Teherani and HPP: PANDION ALBERTUSSEE with exclusive condominiums. Lake Albertus has a history of undulations in the literal sense of the word. It was created as part of a cement factory, so building material from the 3.5-meter-deep lake can be found everywhere in Düsseldorf. From the quarry pond, we moved on to the HORTEN administration site, to the biotope, to the new district - to our new favorite address!
Lake Albertus is built as part of a cement factory and supplies building material for Düsseldorf.
Large parts of the plant site are sold to Horten AG. Subsequently taken over by Metro AG. The landscaped area is named "Heerdter Hofgarten".
