blocher partners gewinnt Architekturwettbewerb für PANDION Bahnhofstraße in Berlin-Köpenick

September 2022

The architectural competition for PANDION´s housing project in Bahnhofstraße came to an end on Wednesday, 15 September 2022 with the awarding of one design. In order to find the best solution for the planning task, PANDION held an architectural competition, which has now come to a successful conclusion. From the designs submitted by seven participating architectural firms from German-speaking countries, a winning design was chosen that convinced the jury the most. The jury, consisting of a total of seven people, was made up of experts from the fields of architecture and urban planning as well as representatives of the client.

The jury unanimously chose the architectural firm blocher partners from Berlin as the winner of the competition and recommended its implementation at the site, which is surrounded by woodland and at the same time only a three-minute walk from Köpenick S-Bahn station. On the approximately 7,300 square metre site next to the Forum Köpenick shopping centre, around 140 condominiums are to be built in the coming years, as well as commercial space for restaurants on the ground floor.

"What stands out about the winning design is the urban development concept, which takes into account the adjacent listed buildings from the 1930s as well as the Gründerzeit urban structures along Bahnhofstraße and the clear response to the special forms of Forum Köpenick," emphasises PANDION project developer Florian Koch.
