Ludger Molitor brings us an artistic intervention of the golden kind with his room installation “Dissolve”, which really does light up the interior of the former Franciscan monastery in Düsseldorf. After the church had been deconsecrated and all of the sacred and secular objects removed to places where they continued to be appreciated and used, the artist shrouded the gallery, walls and staircases in 1,400 m2 of gold foil. This, in combination with the incident light, created a whole new experience and manifold connotations for visitors.
