REVIEW OF THE YEAR 2022
The year is almost coming to an end. In our review, we have summarized the most important PANDION events in 2022 for you.
JANUARY
On January 1st, we found PANDION Engineering GmbH as a subsidiary of PANDION AG. As a technical consulting unit, it forms the link between project development and project management.
Thomas Zahlmann becomes the managing director of this subsidiary.
FEBRUARY
In February, we purchased a property in the center of Düsseldorf, on which a new PANDION OFFICEHOME will be built in the coming years.
At the same time, an unconventional interim use starts on our still fallow property on Wolframstraße in Stuttgart: graffiti artists are invited to design the gray retaining walls of our property on a monthly basis.
MARCH
And the winner is: UNStudio! The international architectural firm wins over the jury in the competition for a 90-meter-high mixed-use high-rise that we will develop in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel.
Shortly afterwards, we bought a 5,400 m² site in southeast Munich at the intersection of the districts of Haidhausen, Ramersdorf and Obergiesing. A new building with 160 residential units and a daycare center is planned.
April
Ernst & Young signs a lease for almost 40 percent (around 14,500 m²) of our OFFICEHOME Rise office project in Düsseldorf.
In the same month, we celebrate the start of the spectacular underground exhibition series "Himmel unter Berlin" in the historic vaulted cellar below our PANDION MIDTOWN project in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
May
In bright sunshine we gather with about 200 guests in Cologne-Ehrenfeld for the topping-out ceremony of our building project PANDION 9 FREUNDE.
JUNE
And another topping-out ceremony: In Munich-Neuperlach, we traditionally raise the topping-out wreath in the completed shell of our PANDION VERDE project.
In addition, we are preparing everything for a different kind of interim use on a PANDION property in Bonn Bad-Godesberg: Starting July 1st, we will make the existing buildings available free of charge as a temporary home for up to 400 people who have fled Ukraine. The operator is the "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz" (German Red Cross).
JULY
Enpal becomes the first major tenant in our OFFICEHOME Ostkreuz Campus in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The solar company rents 17,300 square meters and thus about one third of the total space.
At the same time, we show the photographs of artist Janine Baumeister on the construction fence of our residential project PANDION MIDTOWN. With her open-air exhibition " Augen auf Beton" ("Eyes on Concrete"), she gives a face to the workers on construction sites in the capital.
August
Our colleagues in Berlin take part in the "B2Run" company run in the capital and run the 5-kilometer route together. For every starting place booked, a donation goes to the DKMS and the fight against blood cancer.
And things are also getting sporty in Cologne: one month later, a motivated team sets off for the finishline in the RheinEnergie Stadium as part of the local edition of the "B2Run".
September
In September, we are pleased to announce that the last vacant office floors in the OFFICEHOME Francis in Düsseldorf's city center have been let. This means that the building is fully let!
We also purchase a property in the immediate vicinity of Cologne's main train station with a view of the cathedral. A new OFFICEHOME project will be built here in the coming years on around 11,000 square meters of gross floor space.
October
The Supervisory Board appoints Dr. Philipp Holtschmidt as Commercial Director of PANDION AG with effect from October 1st. The previous CEO Reinhold Knodel takes over the role of Chairman of the Management Board.
In addition, we celebrate our 20th company anniversary in October! In an outdoor gallery at the EXPO REAL in Munich we present the exhibition "PANDION XX - Viewed from above". The renowned architectural photographer Hans Georg Esch has captured our most important projects in unusual perspectives.
November
In November, we continue to be pleased about the result of the winning design for the two-phase urban planning and open space planning competition for the Max Becker site in Cologne, which was selected at the end of October. The urban planning office CITYFÖRSTER from Hanover, together with the Cologne landscape architects urbanegestalt, won the competition. Our plans for the site in the west of Cologne, with a total area of around 17.5 hectares, are now taking shape.
A short time later, we expanded our project pipeline in downtown Stuttgart. We buy an office portfolio from the ALH Group consisting of three separate sites with a total of around 38,000 square meters of gross floor space.
December
At the end of the year, we let the last remaining office space in our Berlin OFFICEHOME The Grid! This means that the building with 13,600 square meters of gross floor space is fully leased - primarily to companies from the IT, e-commerce and consulting sectors.
