Masterplan for PĀN presented

March 2024

The high level of public interest in our major development on the Max Becker site in Cologne was once again demonstrated on 18 March in the Pattenhalle in Ehrenfeld: many members of the public accepted the invitation to find out about the current planning status of the project. The masterplan for our PĀN project was presented together with the City of Cologne, the architecture firm CITYFÖRSTER and the landscape architects from urbanegestalt. Afterwards, there was the opportunity to familiarise oneself with the urban planning concept in detail at various themed tables and to talk to the experts about the building construction, the various uses, mobility & development, open space and the environment. We collected the valuable suggestions from the public so that they can be evaluated in the next step and taken into account in the further planning process. Many thanks to all participants and all representatives of the City of Cologne!

Over the next few years, PĀN will create a new district for Cologne on an area of 17.5 hectares - with around 1,700 flats, around 4,000 office workplaces, a primary school, several daycare centres, over 4 hectares of public green spaces, an urban shopping mile and a 1.5-kilometre-long mobility route and much more. There is still a long and exciting way to go before the urban quarter with around 300,000 square metres of mixed use in Ehrenfeld comes to life. We look forward to continuing on this path actively and in partnership with the city of Cologne, politicians and the public.
