State Secretary Sieveke visits Bonn-Duisdorf

August 2024

As part of this year´s "WohneNRW-Tage", State Secretary Daniel Sieveke from the NRW Ministry of Construction visited our PANDION VILLE residential quarter in Bonn on 30 August. Together with representatives and the management of Sahle Wohnen, we presented the new-build neighbourhood with over 500 residential units to the State Secretary. Representatives of the Alliance for More Housing NRW and other project participants also accepted the invitation to take a tour of the site of the former Gallwitz barracks. The neighbourhood was selected by the ministry as a showcase project because it is a good example of how subsidised and privately financed housing can come together harmoniously.

The condominiums built by PANDION in three construction phases since 2018 have already been handed over to the buyers and are largely occupied. Of the 144 publicly subsidised rental flats planned by Sahle Wohnen, 101 are already under construction. The new residential quarter also offers a daycare centre for six groups and a neighbourhood meeting place for senior citizens under the roof of the future residential building.

We are delighted that the socially mixed neighbourhood is increasingly taking shape and enriching Bonn with a large number of urgently needed flats. At the end of the event, we invited the residents for a scoop of ice cream.

About the "WohneNRW Tage"

The "WohneNRW Tage" took place this year from 28 to 30 August. They are a joint project of the "Allianz für mehr Wohnungsbau NRW" and focus on special housing projects that have been or are being realised with funds from the state´s housing promotion programme. Construction Minister Ina Scharrenbach and State Secretary Sieveke visited a total of 15 projects in Germany´s most populous federal state.
