PANDION will once again announce a concept competition for rent-controlled spaces in its PANDION OFFICEHOME project at Berlin Ostkreuz. The aim is to create more affordable work and production spaces for creative people as well as neighbourhood meeting places in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The two-stage award process called "Space 4 Ideas" is aimed at tenants from the arts, cultural and educational scene as well as socially committed organisations that offer sustainable programmes for the neighbourhood. Several spaces are being advertised that can be used for a minimum of five and a maximum of ten years at a fixed rent of 6.50 euros m²/ net cold.
Construction of PANDION OFFICEHOME is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2022, with leasing beginning around 24 months later. Those interested in the concept competition can already register for the call for entries at space4ideas@pandion.de.
In 2020, PANDION successfully launched a competition of the same name in Berlin-Kreuzberg, in which ten socially committed organisations and creative professionals took part. With Nestwärme plus gGmbH, coculture e.V. and Junge Tüftler/Good Lab gGmbH, three initiatives committed to the neighbourhood were shortlisted by a jury. The final decision on who will be the tenant of the subsidised space at Prinzenstraße 89 will be made shortly.
